Brand New Season

In its endeavor to enthrall the poker fans all over the world, NBC has also followed other television shows hosting poker shows. With its launch of a brand new season of the Poker After Dark show, NBC is all set to reach your household at 2 AM. The season will feature thirteen new episodes including three episodes from season 4 which were not aired previously. These thirteen episodes will have a combination of seven cash game episodes and six single table no limit hold'em all tournaments.

The name and the pattern of these games are taken from the popular late night poker show of UK. Some of the world's greatest professional poker players will get together in Las Vegas to compete for the prize money which is a whopping $120,000. Each week will host an exclusive tournament with six consecutive nights of poker games at the middle of the night. With a lot of hype and action, the show is surely is surely making news among the poker fans and is definitely becoming one of the most favorite poker game shows on air.

The show will have a familiar face as its host in Leeann Tweeden and Ali Nejad as its commentator. Every week the show will start off with the players shuffling up and continue till the winner takes away the last pot.

Among the six weeks dedicated to cash games, two weeks will be dedicated to ‘The Hellmuth Bash'. The show will welcome the Poker brat, Phil Hellmuth, who holds a record of 11 bracelets and 69 cashes. He will be up against Tom 'durrrr' Dwan. He has played against Hellmuth before in the first cash game of Poker After Dark in Week 31. Personalities such as Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak, Kenny Tran, and Bob Safai will contribute bluffs. With such prominent figures contributing to the entertainment quotient, the Hellmuth Bash is surely going to live up to its name.

For another two weeks, the viewers will be able to view some of the players in a live setting in 'Railbird Heaven'. The viewers will not be required to log on to any online poker website but enjoy live games. Some of the greatest cash game players such as Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius, Daniel Negreanu, David Peat, and Phil Hellmuth will be seen.

The remaining couple of weeks in cash games will have Eli Elezra, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivy, Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan, and the newcomer Ilari Sahamis hailing from Finland.

As for the tournaments, six winner take all games will be featured. Some of the most reputed faces such as Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson and many more will be a part of these tournaments. They will be seen in one of the games named 'The Magnificent Six'.

44 year old amateur Arnold Thimons, Johnny Chan, Jennifer Tilly, Phil Laak, Mike Matusow, and Daniel Negreanu will be seen competing with each other in the 'Dream Match III'. To add to the excitement players will participate in the 'sit-n-talk' sessions and engage in banter and fun at the tables.
